CRASH: Two women taken to hospital with chest, leg injuries

11.50am: Both female patients have been taken to Gladstone Hospital.

The women, one of which is in her 20s, were both having problems breathing after a two-vehicle crash at Burua.

The car they were in was significantly damaged in the accident and both women suffered injuries to their chests and lower legs.

Both vehicles have been removed from Dawson Hwy.

Police are still on scene.

11.30am: TWO women sitting inside one of the crashed cars at Dawson Hwy and Weeroona Rd are having trouble breathing.

Queensland Ambulance Services paramedics are currently treating both patients.

"One of the females is in her 20s and both are suffering from injuries to the chest ... they are also suffering from lower-limb injuries.

"The second vehicle has no obvious injuries at this time."

11.15am: POLICE are already on scene and an ambulance is on its way to a two-vehicle crash at the corner of Weeroona Rd and Dawson Hwy.

Passengers who reportedly suffered leg injuries in the crash this morning are still inside their cars at Burua.

It is unknown whether they are trapped at this point.

Police are directing traffic in the area and Queensland Fire and Emergency Services are responding to the accident as well.
