Boomers continue perfect form at Asia Cup

THE Australian Boomers remain perfect at the FIBA Asia Cup, after claiming another dominant victory.

Mitch Creek led the way with 22 points - on a perfect 9-for-9 form the field - as Australia defeated Chinese Taipei 90-50 to finish at the top of Group D.

The Boomers will enter quarter-final action on Thursday with a perfect 3-0 record, winning all three games in convincing fashion.

Boomers veteran Brad Newley finished with nine points and nine assists, while Angus Brandt posted an impressive 12 points and seven rebounds.

The win comes the same day as Basketball Australia announced David Andersen would miss the remainder of the tournament with a shoulder injury; the big-man returning home to Australia.

For Chinese Taipei, Cheng Liu led the way with 17 points.

Australia's quarterfinal opponent is yet to be determined.
