A reader's delight as Lifeline Bookfest returns to Bundy
THE biggest preloved second-hand book sale will hit Bundaberg this weekend with thousands of books from all genres available from as low as 50 cents.
Lifeline business manager Andrew Armstrong said the bookfest at the Superstore on Princess St, East Bundaberg would be held over three days.
"We have books in a variety of titles including fiction, non-fiction, biography, romance, cookery, children's books and more," he said.
"We have about 27 crates and each crate weighs about a tonne, so there will be plenty of books on offer."
Mr Armstrong said no matter what type of book lover you were, there was sure to be something at Bookfest for everyone with money raised going towards a great cause.
"The main role of our bookfest is to raise money. There is a network of 134 shops across seven divisions in Queensland who all run bookfest," Mr Armstrong said.
"Proceeds from all of these events will go towards Lifeline services in Queensland including the 13 11 14 Crisis Support Line."
The Lifeline Bookfest is a free event and Mr Armstrong urged booklovers to bring along family and friends to grab some great bargains.
"People will get some fantastic baragins not only at the bookfest but also at the shop where our doors will be open," he said.
The event will be held from Friday to Sunday at the Lifeline Superstore on 70 Princess St, East Bundaberg.
Doors open from 8am - 4pm Friday and Saturday and 8am - noon on Sunday.
