Library's bargain book sell-off
BOOKWORMS, movie lovers and music fans will be in their element at the popular annual book sale at the Bundaberg Civic Centre this weekend.
Thousands of hardcover and softcover books, magazines, audiobooks, DVDs, CDs and collectibles will be on sale in a joint project between the Bundaberg Regional Library Service and Rotary Club of Bundaberg East.
Bundaberg Regional Council’s community and cultural services spokeswoman Lynne Forgan described the sale as a “literary, listening and visual treasure hunt”.
“It is a perfect opportunity for everyone looking for a chance to buy almost every sort of reading material to pick up a bargain,” she said.
“There will be novels and non-fiction books, box sets of books and plenty of interesting books relating to the history of the region.”
Cr Forgan said a lot of the books had been donated while the rest was stock surplus to the library.
“Prices will start at 50 cents with all funds raised to benefit the library service and the Rotary Club of Bundaberg East, which is donating a portion of the money raised to the flood appeal,” she said.
The book sale will be held at the Bundaberg Civic Centre tomorrow and Sunday from 8am to 3pm.
