Bodybuilding bride creams competition
BUNDABERG’S Allahna Carman is inspiring people in the region to work hard and achieve their goals.
Last month the bodybuilder dominated the the Australian Womens Natural Body Sculpting titles event, winning the overall title and other divisions including novice short, intermediate open and under-30s.
Not done yet, Carman then competed on the Gold Coast in the Australasian Natural Bodybuilding title where she finished first in the women’s fitness division before finishing second in the pro league.
To make the feats even more incredible the local achieved the success while she was planning her wedding.
Talking about the whirlwind last few months Carman said it has been tough.
“I think you just manage (with both), you just make it work,” she said.
“I didn’t want the competition to outweigh the marriage.”
“You only get married once and I just wanted to enjoy the process.”
Despite all the success in Brisbane and Gold Coast, Carman fell short of qualifying automatically for the world titles later this year in Las Vegas.
She now faces a nervous wait to find out if she has been selected but is looking ahead.
“There’s the AWNBS Australian title (in Brisbane and) I’m looking at prepping for that now,” she said.
“If I end up getting (to Vegas) I’ll compete in that.”
Having started a Cert III and IV in Fitness Carman is now helping others get to their goals.
“We’ve started a Facebook group with a couple of girls (and) try to keep each other motivated,” she said.
“(To inspire others) has blown me away.”
