Blizzard blitzes to second win in greyhounds

GREYHOUNDS: After months of close finishes, everything is starting to go right for Bundaberg's Blizzard Blitz.

In the latest meet on Saturday at Thabeban Park, the Marie Richards-owned dog dominated race two to win by just over four lengths.

With the win its second straight victory in the region, it also gave the dog its 12th podium in its 13 races at the track so far.

Talking about the win, Richards said the wins had been coming for the former New South Wales dog.

"He's always been knocking on the door,” she said.

"He's only a young dog so everything is starting to click for him.”

With improved starts as well, Richards is confident the dog has what it takes to succeed in future meets.

"He's coming to the front better in his races,” she said.

"We want to see him go to 550m now and see how he goes.

"It would be nice to see him in the Bundy Cup.”

In other results, two dogs who competed in this year's Bundy Cup had good meets as Not Today Mate and Wilby Dusty won races four and five respectively.

In race three, Wilby Online won by just over four lengths with Minnie Martini winning race one.

Finally, Good Girl Janice won race eight with Magic Maiden and Nanny Char Char securing race seven and six respectively.
