Bin your rubbish and keep Australia beautiful

AUSTRALIANS will throw away tonnes of extra rubbish this Australia Day long weekend and Keep Australia Beautiful wants it to end up in a bin and not on our beaches, highways or waterways.

Tonnes of rubbish including tents, umbrellas, foldout chairs, prams, bathers, bikinis, sunscreen, toys, towels and piles of Australia Day paraphernalia are expected to be left by departing revellers.

Keep Australia Beautiful National CEO Peter McLean wants everybody to take some pride in cleaning up their own backyard.
