Biggenden aged care open day

AN aged care open day will be held on November 6 at Biggenden Hospital from 9am until 1pm to provide information to residents.

The event is being held by the Biggenden aged care services including the Biggenden Mutli-Purpose Health Service, Biggenden Lions Aged Care and BlueCare.

A number of Queensland Health professionals, independent health professionals and businesses will take part in the event to cover a range of issues and topics which are important for aged residents.

Biggenden Hospital nurse Anne Keogh said the event would address a number of topics and relevant information to ensure older people, their families and/or carers had peace of mind.

“Ageing does not have to mean a loss of independence and we hope that by bringing together a diverse range of experts, people learn what assistance is available,” Ms Keogh said.

Morning tea will be provided by the Biggenden Multi-Purpose Health Service with a fashion parade by Palm Court Fashions.

Lunch is sponsored by the many families of the Biggenden community and prepared by the Biggenden Show Ladies, Lions Ladies and BlueCare Auxiliary at the cost of a gold coin.

There will also be entertainment including performances from school students.
