Big day for Bundaberg's school graduates
BUNDABERG students can today celebrate the end of school.
The much anticipated Overall Position score and Queensland Certificate of Education results have been released online today.
Shadow Minister for Education Tracy Davis said the results mark a time to celebrate the achievements of our school leavers.
"I want to pass on my congratulations to every graduating student across Queensland,” Ms Davis said.
"There will be students who are delighted with their results and some who may be disappointed, but I would urge all students not to let their scores deter them from pursuing their dreams.”
Of the state's OP recipients, 740 bright and dedicated students are set to receive OP1 scores, nine more than last year, and more than 21,000 students will receive an OP somewhere in the top 15 bands.
About two per cent of students receive an OP in band one.
Band two to six has about 21 per cent of students, band seven to 21 has about 73 per cent of students and bands 22 to 25 is where about four per cent of students sit.
While the number of OP recipients dropped, the number of school leavers obtaining the Queensland Certificate of Education increased to 93 per cent this year.
