BEYONCE and Jay Z's twins are reportedly receiving treatment for jaundice after being born prematurely.

Family insiders told TMZ the boy and girl, who have been in hospital since their birth eight days ago, are "under the lights" - a common treatment for jaundice.

TMZ reported yesterday that the newborns have spent the week in hospital with a "minor issue" because doctors don't "feel comfortable" releasing them. However they are expected to be OK.

On Sunday, which is Father's Day in the US, Beyonce's dad confirmed the arrival of his daughter's babies.

It comes as late-night TV host Jimmy Kimmel jokingly revealed the "first photo" of the twins.

"They still actually haven't confirmed the happy news officially, but that's not particularly unusual," he said.

"They did this with their daughter, Blue Ivy, too. They waited years before showing their wedding photos. And to this day, no one knows what happened to the fourth member of Destiny's Child. She's just gone."

Kimmel then unveiled an "exclusive photo" of the newborns - an old picture of President Donald Trump's two sons, Eric and Donald Jr.

"Aww, you know what?" Kimmel cooed as the audience erupted in laughter. "They're adorable. Oh, my goodness. Beautiful, beautiful children, especially the girl. She is a doll."
