'Best job' Ben talks tourism

ARRIVING in Bundaberg yesterday morning, “best job in the world” winner Ben Southall looked set to showcase the tourism industry perfectly at the 2009 Bundaberg, Gladstone and Capricorn Zonal Tourism Awards Night on Saturday.

The Brit is approaching the end of his six-month term as “caretaker” of Hamilton Island.

“It's great to have him in town,” Bundaberg Regional Councillor Greg Barnes said.

Bundaberg and District Chamber of Commerce president Ron Bishop said he was going to the event and thinks “It's a great thing for Bundaberg to recognise the tourism industry”.

A few $70 tickets are still available for the event on Saturday from 6pm and at Cafe 1928 at Bundaberg Botanic Gardens, telephone Jayne Wilson on 4153 8844.
