Benched captain backs his players ahead of final
ON SUNDAY afternoon Dan McLennan will be cheering the loudest for a The Waves premiership win - from the Tigers' bench.
After breaking his ankle two weeks ago against Past Brothers, the captain will miss the chance to play in a grand final this weekend against Hervey Bay.
Disappointed not to play, he said the ankle was coming along well.
"It's still a little bit sore, but the drugs help a lot,” he said.
"I'd love to be out there but in saying that it has been a team effort all year so I have faith in the boys to get the job done.”
McLennan said he has a few months before he can get back on the field.
"The doctors said I'll be out for six to eight months. I'll be missing union so I'm going to try to get back just after the new BRL season.
