Beckham’s sneaky tribute in new logo
DAVID Beckham plans to make a major splash with his new soccer franchise - and he's off to a clever start with this eye-catching logo.
The Major League Soccer expansion team in Miami - which has been named Club Internacional de Futbol Miami - unveiled its crest this week in the latest step in its plan to bring global flair to the US competition.
Making use of the famous pink colouring from Miami Vice, the crest features some obvious tributes to the city including two great blue herons - native to South Florida - and the Roman numerals MMXX, representing the year the team will begin playing (2020).
You'll also likely notice the heron's legs lock together to form the letter M.
But, like many other iconic sports logos, there is also a hidden message you won't be able to point out no matter how long you look.

As explained in the illustration above, the eclipse positioned between the two birds has seven rays.
It's significance? Fans of Manchester United will remember Beckham made the number famous during his playing career with the Red Devils.
Slightly arrogant, but very clever.
Inter Miami joins a host of other franchises with recognisable logos that contain hidden messages.
1. CHICAGO BULLS

When you flip the NBA team's logo upside down, it becomes a robot reading a book. No joke. Videos have been dedicated to this, suggesting the robot is reading a Bible on a park bench. It's a robot reading a book! You can't unsee it.
2. TOUR DE FRANCE

Seems obvious now, but admit it: did you know the Tour de France emblem featured a man on a bike?
The bike even has a seat and two wheels.
3. ATLANTA FALCONS

The Falcon is actually in the shape of an "F" for Falcon. Brilliant.
"F" for freaking awesome.
4. HOUSTON ROCKETS

It's a rocket going into space. Bam.
See the rocket taking off?
5. MILWAUKEE BREWERS

It's a baseball glove and an "M" and a "B". That's a triple play.
Our understanding is Milwaukee let this idea brew for a while.
6. MINNESOTA TWINS

Wishful thinking maybe for a baseball team that hasn't won the World Series since 1991, but check out the underlined word.
For the "win".
7. MINNESOTA WILD

Go Minnesota. Back-to-back mentions on this list. Its hockey team's logo is a landscape in the shape of a bear's head.
The ear is the sun and the star is the bear's eye.
8. WASHINGTON CAPITALS

The bottom of the bird forms the shape of the United States Capitol building.
Neat, huh?
9. PHILADELPHIA EAGLES

Can you spot it without us telling you? Give up? OK, there is an "E" for Eagles in the eagle's neck.
This is one of the more subtle design features.
10. ARIZONA DIAMONDBACKS

Not only is it a "D" and "B" for Diamondbacks, it's also a snake head.
The crotalus atrox, or diamondback, is a venomous rattlesnake found in the US and Mexico. Thanks, Wiki.
