Beach access road closed
THE access road to Chinaman's Beach, near the Agnes Water desalination plant, will be closed today until 5pm.
Gladstone Regional Council rural services spokesman Leo Neill-Ballantine said closure of the road to the facility's seawater pump well was required to enable removal and repair of a valve open/close indicator.
"Council's contractor, Trility, has advised that the road, off Springs Road, Agnes Water will be re-opened as soon as the work is complete, which possibly could be earlier than 5pm," Cr Neill-Ballantine said.
A further road closure at a date to be determined will be required to reinstall the repaired equipment.
