Judge refuses second bail plea

A MAGISTRATE refused to hear a second bail application of a man facing charges of assault causing bodily harm, enter premises and committ indictable offence and wilful damage.

Christopher James Blackburn committed the alleged crimes while he was on bail for other matters.

Magistrate Jennifer Batts said another Magistrate’s notes on Blackburn’s first bail application said he was refused as he was a “a risk of committing further offences and endangering the community”.

“I am disinclined to hear the application today,” Ms Batts said.

He will face the court again on September 3 for committal mention.
