LETTER: 'Bundaberg is missing out"
I LOVE Bundaberg and consider it a great place to raise a family, however we are missing out big time.
My wife and I have just returned from a caravan trip to north Queensland and have had our eyes opened to what a progressive council can do.
Water parks for the children, free fresh water beaches/swimming pools, heaps of picnic areas, historical villages; the list goes on.
Townsville has awesome facilities for families, so does Cairns and many other places we stayed.
Bundaberg needs another caravan park to replace the old Finemore park which closed and we need a good quality free camp.
On our trip we noticed every caravan park full, every free camp full, and the roads full of caravans, however they are bypassing Bundaberg because we have no facilities.
Bargara Beach Caravan Park is outdated and lacking, yet they charge top prices.
For the same price we paid at other parks we had top quality amenities, excellent camp kitchens, water parks, swimming pools, play grounds etc.
It is time the Bundaberg Regional Council got its head out of the sand and visited other towns to find out just what a progressive council can do for their city.
