Award for lifetime achievement

THE Inaugural Bundaberg and District Chamber of Commerce Lifetime Achievement Award was presented to Phil Ainsworth on Saturday night for his contribution to business and the community.

The award was part of the Chamber's 2013 Business Excellence Awards.

In his speech Chamber president Yale Morgan said Mr Ainsworth had been one of the founders of the company that made Jabiru aircraft at Bundaberg airport.

He said for the past 30 years Mr Ainsworth had devoted his working life to Bundaberg's future.

At the awards night the Business of the Year accolade was won by the Sugarland Vet Clinic.

Mr Morgan said almost 300 business owners, managers and staff enjoyed the awards.

Categories included Hospitality And Entertainment, Hair and Beauty, Small Business and Tourism and Accommodation.
