Avondale shifts its focus to finals footy
LEAGUE: The Tigers might have completed the perfect season but they are not resting on their laurels.
The side finished the regular season on Sunday with a 40-34 win over Northern Force, its 15th-straight victory.
But Tigers coach Luke Owen insists the team still has unfinished business.
"It's a great achievement for the side to end the season unbeaten and win the minor premiership,” he said.
"But we won't be complacent in the finals, we'll train hard, and show our opposition respect.”
The side will face the Northern Force on August 20 for a spot in the grand final.
In the other match, Gin Gin will face Burnett Heads in an elimination final after beating South Kolan 50-38 on Sunday.
