Aussie man faces severe punishment for swearing on flight
A FACE whipping is one of the punishments that could be in store for a Perth man who was arrested in Singapore for swearing on a Tiger Airlines flight.
Maritime worker Bruce Griffiths, 47, has been charged with an "outrage of modesty crime", which can attract severe penalties, including two years in jail and a caning.
According to the West Australian, Mr Griffiths became angry when a fellow passenger yelled at him for getting up out of his seat to allow a woman to access the toilet.
Australian consulate officials are assisting Mr Griffiths.
