ATW Gold stripped of weekend points
NETBALL: A failure to sign a scorecard has cost ATW Gold dearly in the Bundaberg Netball Competition.
After recording a 46-28 win over ATW Blue which moved them to the top of the ladder, the club was notified on Sunday the three points they got for the win would be taken away from them.
Under rule 18.7 of the competition it states “the team will lose any points for that game” if a player who has played fails to sign the scorecard.
Gold coach Sandy Baker said it was unfortunate but the team must move on.
“It happens all the time and in all divisions,” she said.
“It provides us with more motivation to show why we deserve to be at the top.”
Alloway now remains on top of the competition ladder with 25 points.
