Van park stabber charged

A 45-YEAR-OLD Burrum Heads man has been charged with attempted murder following an alleged stabbing in the coastal town in the early hours of yesterday morning.

Richard Raymond Boys was remanded in custody until February 18, after he appeared before Hervey Bay Magistrates Court yesterday, charged with entering a dwelling with intent and attempted murder.

Boys was arrested at his Burrum Heads home about 7.15am following the alleged attack at a Burrum Heads caravan park.

It is alleged Boys entered a caravan about 1am on Thursday and assaulted a man with a knife.

The victim was taken to Hervey Bay Hospital with wounds to his head, chest and leg.

Howard police and Hervey Bay CIB seized evidence at the property of the alleged offender and the crime scene.

It is believed the two parties are known to each other and the alleged dispute was over a small sum of money.
