RACY! Toowoomba's own pin-up calendar girl
TOOWOOMBA beauty Ashleigh Ellem will feature in next year's Miss Mustang calendar.
Ms Ellem was one of 12 women in Australia to secure a spot as a pin-up girl.
The 1950s style calendar will feature a Second World War fighter plane, P51-D Mustang.
Ms Ellem said she was thrilled to be a part of Miss Mustang 2016.
"I have entered other pageants in the past but I absolutely love pin-up style," she said.
"I feel like I can really express myself through modelling."
All 12 beauties were chosen based on their pin-up looks and fundraising efforts.
The money raised and all proceeds of the calendar sales will go towards Mates4Mates.
Mates4Mates supports current and ex-Australian Defence Force members who have suffered physical or psychological wounds, injuries or illnesses as a result of their service.
Ms Ellem has already raised more than $2000 and said she was confident she could raise an extra $1000 this week.
"I love that we are supporting Australian soldiers," she said.
"We are able to give something back to people who have done so much for us.
"I think it is important to support the soldiers who are psychologically or physically wounded after coming back from serving our country.
"I want to raise as much money as I can."
Miss Ellem heads to Mackay next Friday for the photo shoot and to compete for the Miss Mustang title.
"I'm a little nervous, but really excited to meet everyone," she said.
"I would love to win but either way it will be a lot of fun."
