Are you being socially inclusive?

SOCIAL Inclusion Week 2015 kicked off on Saturday, November 21, with a line-up of fantastic events running nationwide to celebrate the theme of Collaborate, Connect and Celebrate.

Local Bundaberg residents are encouraged to get involved in their community to ensure locals, neighbours and community members feel valued and accepted.

Social Inclusion Week runs until Sunday, November 29 and is expected to generate involvement in Bundaberg through various activities, with a number of inspiring and creative events already registered nationally.

Creator of Social Inclusion Week, Dr Jonathon Welch AM, who is also Founding Music Director of the award winning Choir of Hard Knocks, said as an increasingly diverse society it is vital that Bundaberg residents connect with their community at all levels.

"Social Inclusion Week is an important national initiative and I encourage Bundaberg locals to get involved by attending events in their area and reaching out to those in the community who may need a little extra help finding their way and making new friends," said Jonathon.

To register your event, check for what's on in Bundaberg and for ideas and inspiration on how others are planning to connect people in their community, head to www.socialinclusionweek.com.au, or check out Social Inclusion Week on Facebook and Twitter.
