Aqua aerobics an enjoyable sport

BEV Thomas has only been in Childers for six months and joined the aqua aerobics classes at the Isis War Memorial Pool for fun, fitness and the chance to meet new people.

At the group’s Christmas party on Sunday, which followed the regular class, Bev said she “really enjoys the exercise sessions and loves the friendliness of the group”.

“The classes have been an overwhelming success and participants have reported improved health, fitness and mobility since beginning the sessions,” pool lessee Sue Warner said.

Some exercisers had even lost a few centimetres in girth and many said they had lots of fun and had formed new friendships too.

Joint pain and sore muscles also seem to find relief in the water and the escape from the heat is a bonus.

There are seven sessions a week from which to choose and classes are a mix of age, gender and levels of fitness.

Newcomers are welcome and should contact Ms Warner on 4126 1437 or 0408 911 465 for a class time to suit them.

Classes run until the end of the swimming season.
