Martin hoping for streak to continue

By DAN NANCARROW

PETER Martin is hoping to see his side's undefeated start to the Archem Premier League season continue this weekend against Alloway.

The Across The Waves football coach said he was hoping his side could again take down Alloway after defeating them recently in the NewsMail Cup.

"We had a pretty good win there,'' Martin said.

"It was a pretty dour game but to come away with the points was good.''

Martin said he was looking for his side to maintain the momentum generated by an undefeated start to the season.

ATW have had two wins and three draws, but most importantly no losses from their first five games this year.

Martin attributed their success to a positive attitude on and off the pitch.

"I think the boys are all happy to work hard for each other as a group,'' he said.

"We seem to match the name players of the other clubs with effort and hard work.

"And training has been really good for us this season.''

Martin said he was looking forward to getting star striker Jason Chapman back on the park and developing a strong combination with 16-year-old Elliot Causer up front.

"We seem to be defending well but like every other club we are struggling putting the ball in the back of the net,'' he said

This weekend Martin said he was expecting another win against Alloway.

But he also expected the match to be a tight struggle.

In the other match Diggers and North will face-off against each other on Anzac Day.
