Hosts pull slick moves at Bucca

By Lee Gaskin

RICK De Salvo led the way for a successful Bundaberg contingent when they hosted the fourth round of the Connelly tournament series at Bucca.

A total of 44 skiers contested the event in immaculate conditions, and De Salvo left the field in his wake, claiming the Division 2 title.

That was the premier class, with no Division 1 skiers, who normally consist of world-ranked riders, taking to the water.

David Pearson displayed a wide variety of moves to win Division 3, while 17-year-old Travis Patterson proved to be the surprise packet, blitzing his Division 4 competition in his maiden event.

Division 5 went the way of David Kirby, while newcomer Kresten Ramage rose to the top among 21 rivals in the Division 6 class.
