An 85 over batting goal

LADDER-leaders Brothers have set themselves a goal to make the most of their full allocation ahead of tomorrow’s two-day game against Across The Waves.

No side has lasted the allotted 85 overs, but captain David Boge has signalled for his batsmen to knuckle down and find some form in what essentially is a dead rubber.

The two sides sit well ahead of Country Wests and will mostly likely meet in the News-Mail Cup final, but Boge is not taking this game lightly.

A full team, including returning quick Boyd Williams and recent centurion Adam Rayner will front up this weekend, however next week several absences will mean a reshuffle.

“We’ve got blokes hitting the ball well, like Jarrod Laycock and Peter Turich, but no-one has really capitalised on it, I’m surprised none of them have hit that 100 yet,” Boge said.

“Our bowling has been great, we’ve got the job done there, so I think it’s time to work on the batting side of things.”
