Highway reopened after ammonia truck and car crash

UPDATE: The Warrego Hwy has been reopened after a crash involving three vehicles closed it earlier tonight.

Police had been diverting traffic at Zimms Corner following the crash.

EARLIER: Emergency services are currently at the scene of a three-vehicle crash involving a truck and two cars on the Warrego Hwy 2km east of Oakey.

The highway was closed in both directions at 7pm.

A Queensland Fire and Emergency Service spokesman confirmed a truck loaded with ammonia was involved in the crash but not damaged.

Two males were trapped in two vehicles, but have since been freed.

A Police Media spokesman said a third car had collided with the vehicles after the crash.

The men are being treated by a nurse at the scene and firefighters and paramedics are on route.

The crash occurred at about 6.30pm on the Toowoomba side of Oakey.

Police are currently diverting traffic at Zimms Corner.
