Alleged criminal has bail altered

A MAN charged with unlawful wounding, using a carriage service to menace, common assault, and wilful damage requested changes to his bail undertaking on Friday.

Christopher Martin Prouse, 39, of Fitzgibbon, asked to have his bail conditions altered in Bundaberg Magistrates Court to allow him to have contact with his fiancee. Police Prosecutor Senior Constable Fiona Ward opposed the application saying the woman was a prosecution witness.

Defence lawyer Mary Buchanan said her client was due to be married to the witness and the pair intended to move in together.

Magistrate Jennifer Batts allowed the change. Prouse will appear again on October 22 for committal mention.
