Accused killers in court

A TOOWOOMBA mother and son accused of murder will have a long wait in custody after their case was adjourned to December.

Samantha Brownlow, 43, and Corey Lovell, 19, are accused of murdering Brownlow's 62-year-old stepfather, Robin Behrendorff, whose body was found in his Burnett Heads home in April.

Defence barrister Nick Larter appeared for the pair in Bundaberg Magistrates Court yesterday and said a lengthy adjournment was required.

Mr Larter said there were about 170 witnesses, 100 exhibits and 60 tape recordings that needed to be assessed before the matter could proceed further.

Magistrate Jennifer Batts allowed the adjournment, setting it for further mention on December 19.

Neither Brownlow nor Lovell are expected to appear at the December mention.
