Man on assault charge

A MAN who allegedly crash-tackled his former partner’s brother during an argument and injured his arm will face trial on an assault charge.

Stephen Mark Agius, 44, from Wallaville, faced Bundaberg Magistrates Court charged with assault causing bodily harm after he allegedly fought with his sister’s former partner, Trevor Wells, on July 16 last year.

The alleged victim told the court Agius ran down the stairs and attacked him.

Mr Wells suffered soft tissue damage to his shoulder following the alleged attack.

Magistrate John Smith committed Agius to stand trial in Bundaberg District Court.

He did not enter a plea.
