61 speeding... 8 unregistered... police nab drivers in blitz

POLICE have handed out more than 90 fines after a four-day blitz across the region, which finished yesterday.

Officers targeted drivers in Bundaberg, Bargara, Bundaberg, Childers, Gin Gin, South Kolan, Mt Perry, Eidsvold and Monto between midnight on Saturday and 6am yesterday.

They handed out fines to drivers for the following offences:

61 speeding infringements

8 using an unregistered motor vehicle

3 drug-driving

2 drink-driving

2 driving an uninsured class motor vehicle on a road

2 driving unregistered and uninsured

2 overtaking when not safe to do so

2 failing to stop at Stop sign

2 provisional licence holders failing to display green P at front and rear of car

1 failing to give way

1 failing to stop at a yellow traffic light when driver could have stopped safely

1 driver using hand-held mobile phone

1 driver using hand-held mobile phone (bicycle)

1 driving while disqualified or restricted

1 driving a vehicle when equipment does not comply with vehicle standards

1 traffic crash (no injuries).
