Hundreds of homes flooded

BUNDABERG district disaster management group chairman superintendent Rowan Bond said 380 houses have been affected by floodwaters.

About 180 homes have been inundated - the rest have water through their yards and up to the house.

He said there was a high level of police patrolling to prevent looters, but they had received no reports of problems so far.

The river has remained steady at 7.9m since 4am.

"We hope it won't rise any further and will start to go down soon," Supt Bond said.
