300 homes lose power

ERGON Energy customers around the Avondale and Moore Park areas were affected by power outages yesterday morning.

About 300 homes experienced disruptions to their power supply between 3.20am and 7.30am.

Some homes in the Moore Park and Avondale areas reported a total blackout, while others experienced intermittent power cuts.

Ergon Energy corporate communications manager Rod Rehbein said it was unknown what had caused the power outage.

Mr Rehbein said work crews tasked with addressing the issue yesterday morning could not determine a cause of the power disturbance.

He said all homes in the affected area had their power restored by 7.30am.
