18-year-old woman hospitalised after car surfing mishap

AN EIGHTEEN-year-old woman has been taken to hospital after a 'car surfing' mishap.

Police and ambulance officers were called to Fred Chaplin Cct at Bells Creek at about 10.45pm last night after the teenager fell from a moving vehicle.

Reports to police were that the woman had fallen from a ute and suffered a number of injuries.

A Queensland Ambulance Service spokesman said the young woman had been on a bike which was tied down to the tray of a ute.

The spokesman said the ute had been travelling at about 60km/h when she fell off, suffering head and shoulder injuries.

She was taken to the Sunshine Coast University Hospital in a stable condition.
