$10K competition win for disability service
THE creativity of staff and members at Community Lifestyle Support Inc. has won them $10,000 in a local competition.
The disability support service participated in Sea FM’s Show Us Your Sea contest and took out the major prize for their promotion of the radio station.
“The aim of the competition was to promote Sea FM in the community- so we had land, air and sea, all of our basis covered,” CLS community support worker Jodi Morris said.
“We had multiple entries, a skydiving video over Hervey Bay, we printed out a big banner and went around to all different business around Bundaberg for a video and we also put some photos on a rotating LED sign with the help of business JPK.”
Ms Morris said their part in the competition took a few weeks to organise but was well worth the outcome.
“Everyone at CLS really enjoyed it, it was beneficial that we were able to get out into the community more and meeting people and it is now beneficial that we have won the major prize,” she said.
“We will use the prize money to take our postal services group away on little holidays, things that they don’t usually get to do and give them a night away from mum and dad.”
“We will spread out the money as best that we can.”
