100 cannabis plants found in raid

CHILDERS police shut down an alleged hydroponic cannabis crop after a raid at the living quarters of the Caltex Service Station in Childers yesterday afternoon.

More than 100 plants were allegedly seized in the raid, plus lights, fans, utensils and fertilisers.

Childers Police officer in charge Sergeant Geoff Fay said he regarded the number of plants seized as a commercial quantity.

A 37-year-old Childers man was charged with producing a dangerous drug, and other drugs charges. He will appear in Childers Magistrates Court on October 15.
