Childers Festival of Cultures
The main street of Childers will come alive on the last weekend in July as 50,000 people converge on the town for the annual Festival of Cultures. A myriad of performers, artists and bands will entertain the crowds, while over 400 stalls will line the streets providing an unforgettable festival market experience. A highlight of the festival will be the opportunity to taste different cuisines from around the world with one dish of food simply never enough!! The event kicks off on Saturday afternoon at 2.00 p.m. with a street party based in Crescent Street with the lively band Brass Monkeys performing well into the night. Old favourites such as The Twine, Sunas and Walisuma will be performing on several stages throughout the festival and this year the festival will also feature some exciting new acts.
