Gin Gin High School Year 11 student Savannah Duckett was the winner of an iPod Nano.
TWO students started the year off on a high after winning Gin Gin Newsagency's Back to School competition.
Wallaville State School's Bradley Peace won a toy helicopter and Gin Gin High School Year 11 student Savannah Duckett won an iPod Nano.
Newsagency manager Gail Stallon said anyone who spent more than $50 in the store on back-to-school items automatically went into the draw to win the two prizes.
"We do this every year and have done so for more than 10 years," she said.
"We had about 200 entries this year."
Mrs Stallon said the newsagency tried to take the pain out of back-to-school shopping for parents with limited time to spare.
"It encourages people to shop locally and we know the needs of all the local schools," she said.
