A MAN caught drink-driving for the fourth time in less than five years has lost his licence for 15 months.
Christopher Francis Taylor, 30, faced Bundaberg Magistrates Court on Friday, when another conviction was added to a fast-growing record of drink-driving offences.
Police prosecutor Sergeant Barry Stevens said Taylor was pulled over at a random breath test site in Gin Gin on January 10 just before 6pm.
He returned a blood-alcohol reading of .091% and told officers he had drunk three stubbies of beer and had not eaten that day.
"His history is concerning," Sgt Stevens said.
"He has a .102% in 2010, a .076% in 2008 and a .061% in 2007."
Sgt Stevens said past punishments from the court had not curbed Taylor's bad habit of getting behind the wheel after drinking alcohol.
"He was given a period of probation on the last occasion and it hasn't stopped him from offending so, in my submission, a wholly suspended jail term is certainly within range," he said.
Lawyer Matt Messenger said Taylor was a builder's labourer who had been laid off before Christmas.
"Certainly it is concerning that there are these four matters. Today is not a high-range reading," he said.
Magistrate Jennifer Batts said Taylor was lucky nothing worse had happened on the occasions he chose to drink and drive.
"To say it's disappointing to see Mr Taylor here today is an understatement," Ms Batts said.
"(Your history) is a history that no one could be proud of."
Taylor, who pleaded guilty to one count of drink-driving, was ordered to complete 15 months probation and was disqualified from driving during that time.
