A MAN has faced court this morning after he was allegedly caught carrying a shortened shotgun in the early hours of today.
Criminal Investigation Branch Detective Senior Sergeant Joe Hildred said officers intercepted the 35-year-old man riding his bike near Kent St, shortly after midnight.
Det Snr Sgt Hildred said a search of the man revealed the shotgun and a roll of duct tape, and he was then charged with possessing a firearm as well as a "myriad" firearm offences.
He was taken into custody and appeared briefly in Bundaberg Magistrates Court where his case was adjourned until tomorrow, when it is believed he will apply for bail.
