C WAS for cookie and that was definitely good enough for the youngsters at the Goodstart Learning Centre when they had a very special visitor yesterday.

The Cookie Monster made an appearance at the child care centre and was ready to dance, high five and hug the young ones.

But there were some tears with some children scared of the big, blue, furry monster.

The stopover in Bundaberg was all part of a promotion for Elmo's World Tour which is set to hit the Moncrieff Theatre on March 29.

The musical show sees the Sesame Street characters, including Elmo, the Cookie Monster, Grover, the Count and Abby Cadabby, going on an adventure through imagination and learning how to sing, dance and say hello in places around the world.

The story will be brought to life with the help of Life Like Touring.

"We have been in discussions with the team at Sesame Workshop for a number of years and are excited this production is finally premiering in March 2012," Life Like Touring executive producer Luke Gallagher said.
