THE state election campaign has ramped up in Bundaberg, despite the polling date yet to be announced.
Opposition spokesman for health Mark McArdle will visit the Bundaberg Hospital today to speak about "local health workers' concerns".
The visit has prompted Member for Burnett Rob Messenger to once again call for a doubling of the beds and staff at the Bundaberg Hospital.
"Unfortunately, all the vital figures show that the Bundaberg Base Hospital is critically under-resourced and badly managed," Mr Messenger said.
"Every crisis which has occurred at the Bundaberg Base Hospital has been caused by a lack of doctors, nurses and specialists, or because of incompetent management."
