We celebrate many special days throughout the year to recognise the importance of different people, places and events.Remebrance Day is marked at the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month each year.Throughout Australia special ceremonies take place and one minutes silence is observed to remember those who fought, died and sufferred, serving Australia in wars, conflicts and peace-keeping missions. The Melbourne Cup is another historically special day in the calendar. It's the 'race that stops a nation' A more recent acknowledgement is the special day where we show appreciation to all grandparents and recognise the invaluable role they play in many families' lives.
