BUNDABERG punters have thrown $260,000 more into the city’s poker machines this past April than in the same month last year.

However, an extra 21 machines have been installed in the period following the release of last year’s figures.

A total of $2,957,305.41 was spent on poker machines in the city last month.

That can be compared with the $2,693,473.11 that was swallowed by gaming machines in April 2010.

In April 2010, there were 18 gaming sites with 813 machines operating in Bundaberg – last month there were 19 operational sites, with a total of 834 poker machines.

Despite the year on year increase, gamblers spent $71,360 less in April than they did the previous month.

About $3,028,666 gurgled down Bundaberg’s pokie machines in March 2011.

Bundy’s gaming venues wasted no time between months, installing 29 more machines between March and April this year.
