AS the weather gets cooler Bundaberg shoppers can expect the usual wardrobe staples like jeans and t-shirts to be given a new edge.
City Girl/City Guy, owner, Cheryl Campbell said that this season the ladies fashions are all about the jeans, high-waisted pants and skirts, feminine floaty tops, leather jackets and stylish sleeve embellishments.
“We are seeing a lot of high-waisted pants with a wider leg and leather jackets, which are always in fashion,” Ms Campbell said.
“In the skirts department, the high-waist pencil and the maxi skirt are clear favourites that come in a range of colours and patterns.”
Not forgetting the men, Ms Campbell said that the classic checked shirt, printed t-shirt and jeans were the forerunners in the style stakes.
“The classic check print shirt looks great unbuttoned over the top of a singlet or a t-shirt paired with jeans, jean, jeans, the whole way through,” Ms Campbell said.
Innstyle Mensland, owner, Ian McCloskey said that he also thought the checked shirt was a clear contender for the most popular piece for men this season.
“Checks are generally the go for guys and are quite fashionable, small or big checks, they are here to stay,” Mr McCloskey said.
“Jeans are also everlasting, it is just the wash that changes; this season it is all about the blacks fading to grey.
“For the mature man we have cashmere knits and pullovers, cotton cardigans in a range of colours and styles which are really soft fabrics to wear.”
Modern Millies, owner, Joan Hiscock said that her store stocked clothing suitable for women aged 50 and older and that this season the most popular styles were jeans, pants, jackets, knitwear and good quality tracksuits.
“A lot of women in the region don’t like the sloppy look but love tracksuits, for that reason we have really smart coordinated sets available that look great,” Ms Hiscock said.
