Kalkie State School student Isabella Beutel (far left) lines up with the other contestants of Junior Master Chef.
BUNDABERG has its very own pint-sized chef set to wow audiences nationwide in a junior spin-off of ratings juggernaut MasterChef.
Kalkie State School student Isabella Beutel, 10, has made it into the top 50 of more than 5500 applicants aged between eight and 12 to the amateur cooking show.
Isabella can be seen in the first episode which airs on Channel 10 this Sunday from 7.30pm.
But true to form of the adult series, how long Isabella will remain in the reality show is being kept tightly under wraps.
The 50 junior cooks will battle it out to secure a place in the top 12, after which they will be eliminated in groups of four every two weeks.
The contestants will also be judged on a points system - for each challenge the three best dishes will be awarded points.
Those who produce the best dish will receive six points, second will get four points and third will get two.
The final prize is definitely worth fighting for, with the winner to receive a $15,000 trust fund.
Second place will receive a trust fund worth $10,000 and third and fourth will receive $5000 each. Each top 50 contestant will receive a cooking prize pack, which will include top of the range pots and pans and a Mixmaster.
Like the adult version, the tiny chefs will face the tastebuds of the sometimes brutal judges Gary Mehigan, George Calombaris and Matt Preston.
Lifestyle Food Channel personality Anna Gare will add her culinary expertise as an additional judge and mentor for the cooks.
Celebrity chefs such as Matt Moran, Donna Hay and Adriano Zumbo will also put the young kids through their paces.
