Hayden Cunningham enjoys his round of golf at the Oakwood golf course.
CLUB Championships have started this week in Golf.
They will be run the next three Saturdays, concluding on September 25.
The men's competition will be split into two divisions (A) 0-21 and (B) 22-+, while the ladies have just one division.
The conditions were inviting Saturday morning, but turned gusty and not so inviting for the afternoon groups.
Teeing off in the morning and leading in division B was Rusty Roberts.
Rusty was also this month's monthly medal winner when he fired his 89 off the stick for a 62 nett score on Saturday.
John Macfarlane leads division A after he turned in a score of 64 nett.
John also was the runner-up in the monthly medal for the men.
David Doyle leads the gross score for the men with his 73 in the afternoon.
Some other notable scores were John Perry 65, Kevin Lewis 65 and Ron Stayte 66.
Delys Warner got her monthly medal when she shot a beautiful round of 98, giving her a nett score of 64.
Delys was one of the brave golfers who survived the swirling and gusting winds on Saturday. That score also puts her in the lead for the Ladies Club Championship.
Ros Savidge leads the gross score for the women with her 88 in the am.
Some other notable scores for the ladies were Mary Swepson 69, Bev Standen 69 and Sharon Brady 70.
There are still a lot of weeks yet to play and how fast things can change in this game.
So for those who think they are out of it, please think again.
It is still anyone's championship!
