NEWLY re-elected Member for Hinkler Paul Neville has vowed to stand by the promises he made during the election campaign if the Coalition forms government.
Mr Neville said the promises he made during the campaign included $2 million for the restoration of the mouth of the Elliott River.
He also promised $180,000 for a weed harvester, up to $150,000 for the restoration of Dr May's Island and a connecting spur to the mainland, and the Bundaberg and Isis high schools' solar schools project for $150,000 between them.
“I also intend to pursue the issue of the Isis River bridge, which was a failed promise by Labor,” Mr Neville said.
Mr Neville said while he had always delivered on his election promises, they were contingent on the Coalition being in government.
“I can't speak for a Labor government,” he said.
“Even if I can't promise them in the event of a Labor government, I will pursue them.”
Mr Neville said one of the great disappointments for him during the election campaign was that his Labor opponent, Belinda McNeven, would not endorse or match any of his promises.
He said if the Coalition formed government he would like to serve in either the ministry or as chairman of a parliamentary committee.
Mr Neville said a decision on who would form government was unlikely to be made before next week.
The three independents who hold the balance of power have asked for briefings from a number of government departments and he expected that would take three or four days.
He said they would probably then want to talk to the Opposition leader and the Prime Minister before making a decision, possibly early next week.
