Matt Hanson and Will Shackleford have re-committed to the Bundaberg Radioloy Bulls 2011 season.
THE imposing figure of Will ‘Shack' Shackleford will return to Century 21 Stadium next season, along with Matt Hanson and Nello Giordano, after the trio re-signed with the Bulls this week.
Bears gun Vonnie Turner was another to add her signature, while Steph Jones is yet to formally agree to terms despite stating she too intends to stay.
Still to sign is local Bulls starting member Kyle Keirnan, but the club is confident he will join the roster once more.
A love of the Bundaberg crowd, club, and lifestyle has drawn Shack back for 2011.
“I've had a warm welcome ever since I started here,” Shackleford said.
Hanson was the same, despite playfully blaming his team-mate for losing a few fans this year.
“Shack's stolen my kids from me.
“They are all his biggest fans now,” the QBL dynamo said.
“I love mixing with the kids, visiting the schools and just love the atmosphere our home crowd creates.”
The Bulls pair was disappointed to miss out on playing finals basketball, but Hanson was direct in his assessment of the season.
“We made an improvement on last year,” he said.
“I'm very happy with our roster and I want a high percentage of those guys back next season.”
He said the club would be searching for a specialist point guard, while Shack said a focus on pre-season fitness would help their chances.
“Obviously we need to do some things differently, because if we don't we'll end up in the same position again, and we don't want that,” Shackleford said.
Coach Adam Curran said negotiations with Keirnan and Todd Meyerding would be in place soon as they attempted to lock them in for the 2011 campaign.
